Swing for Freedom

For the Centenary of Lions Clubs International in 2017,
our then President Lion Liz Harries started a project to place a wheel chair Swing in a public place for the use of those in wheelchairs who are often restricted to sitting and watching others having fun.
Now 4 years later the swing has been delivered and we are awaiting the installation to take place in Pembrey Country Park once covid restrictions permit.
After a grant received from Tesco Blue Tokens scheme, we are also providing two picnic benches adapted for the wheel chair users.

Thursday 28th April 2022 after 5 long years we visit Pembrey Country Park and see the Swing installed in its new home in the newly vamped Children's Play area.
Also by the New Cafe and Visitors centre, the first of Two
disabled picnic benches
 suitable for wheelchairs

Teddies for Children on 999 Ambulances

We supply Llaneli and Gorseinon ambulance stations with a supply of Teddies individually sealed in a bag with a letter to be given to under 12 year olds when needing a 999 ambulance.
Paramedics find the teddies a useful tool to communicate with the patients. They have also found that when dealing with Alzheimer and Dementia patients, Teddy is an aid to calm the situation and find out where the pain is.
